The L.a. Lakers franchise was found in Detroit before moving to Minneapolis, where the team got its official title from the states nickname, and won 5 league championships within the various leagues before locating to Los Angeles. In the late 1970's and early 1980's the Lakers popularity soared, which made them become one of the most successful franchises int he NBA with superstar players Magic Johnson, Karen Abdul-Jabber and the coach Pat Riley winning title in the span, with 3 champion series against their own rivals,the Boston Celtics.      In the 2000's the trio coach Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O'Neal brought 3 straight championships before falling apart then culminating in O'Neal being traded to the Miami Heat only Bryant, Jackson, and Derek Fisher after brief stops with the golden state warriors Utah Jazz, remaining from the championship year, most recently, the team finished 42-40 in the 2006-07 NBA season Jackson's worst record for is coaching care .	second page
